Koa (pronounced “Core” - originating from the Maori word meaning happy) originally hailing from the UK and New Zealand (but lucky for us, who now calls Brisbane home) is a genre defying and atmosphere-setting musical aficionado. Fall into a melodic journey as she picks your afternoon up with some sunshine funk, tumbles you through an evening of techy swing, unfurls your early morning with deep, dark mid-tempo glitch before resting your head at the dawn with beautifully selected world house. Finding her tune-slinging beginnings as one half of funk duo, Offbeat Bonitas (with late night techno favourite Kundu) at festivals such as Jungle Love, she has since played solo shows at private parties around Brisbane and as a part of everyone’s favourite party on wheels, The Wonky Queenslander, at festivals such as Earth Frequency 2018 (after dark wonky stage), Rabbits Eat Lettuce, Hey Sunshine, and Big Sound.
