Papa P aka ‘Jah C’ is the creator of the long running Melbourne radio show ‘Rastafarian Riddims’ in the early 80’s after returning from studying in London and Bristol with a suitcase full of reggae vinyl and a head full of Rastafarian reasoning and culture. He is also instrumental in the development of the ‘Survival Reggae Club’ which was inaugurated by Bob Marley when the Wailers toured Australia in 1979 and is now expanding with branches in India and Sri Lanka where he regularly tours. Papa P relocated to the Byron region in 2000 and managed the Byron Bay Reggae Club which was was active for over a decade in the Shire promoting local and interstate bands and DJ’s. His style of Roots Reggae is focused on the heyday of Jamaican and UK releases from the late 60’s to the early 80’s with a very strong slant on spiritual uplifting grooves and conscious lyrics to ‘Chant down Babylon’ and praise JAH the Almighty!
