Earth Frequency Festival is proud to be in partnership with the Queensland Trust for Nature who is working to protect threatened species in the local area where the festival is taking place. We are exploring a range of actions to support their valuable work. This includes a funded study of local koala populations in the vicinity of the venue, contributing to their tree planting and habitat restoration efforts through our carbon offset eco funds, and incorporating a donation option in to our ticketing system. You will also see a QTFN stall at the festival this year where you can talk to them about their activities in the local area and make a donation.
In our first year of partnership with QTFN in 2016, $1155 was raised through donations on the EFF ticket portal. Another donation from our carbon offset funds from previous years was made for $2200. Total raised was $3355 which is a great first year outcome.
You can support the Trust’s work in restoring “Koala Crossing”, a 652ha property containing critical habitat for the koala, brush-tailed rock-wallaby and the powerful owl by making a donation of one of the following options when you buy your festival tickets. You can also make a purchase of one of these donation options from our ticketbooth page without buying festival tickets.
Plant a Tree
For $5 we are able to plant one Koala food or habitat tree within a critical Koala corridor.
Adopt a Local Koala
For $20 you can symbolically adopt a local Koala.
For $30 you can protect a 10sqm parcel of land of threatened species habitat for future generations.
Thank you for helping to make a difference to the local ecology and supporting Earth Frequency's intention to leave a positive foot print in the local area!
