Matiu Te Huki
Matiu intuitively nurtures a deep connection with his audience creating the energy that opens portals of paradise. He is a potent cultural ambassador who proudly promotes pacific peaceful power through his electrifying performances, his potent and playful workshops and his personal presence both on and off stage. Matiu Te Huki has over 20 years experience in the music industry and as a national and international kapa haka exponent and teacher. He was the founder, playwright, composer and production director of Te Whanau Puawai Ora Maori Performing Arts Trust (Christchurch) from 1998 – 2004. Matiu has also been teaching kapahaka on all levels for over 20 years, is the Maori cultural advisor for He Whanau Manaaki o Tararua Kindergarten association (Wellington/Wairarapa/Horowhenua), New Zealand Kindergarten Association and Best Start Early Childcare association (Nationwide).

Sacred stance through the Maori voice This workshop has been specifically designed by Matiu Te Huki to help participants connect more deeply with their internal warrior, leader, speaker and their ancestors. Matiu has over 20 years experience as a Maori language and performance teacher, he is a playwrite, musician, facilitator and leader amongst his own communities. This interactive workshop will cover traditional Maori practices including the art of introduction, song, haka, sharing the breath of life, story and more. Participants will leave with ancient yet practical tools to support them in the way they stand, speak, listen, connect and move powerfully through life. This workshop also delves into the realms of the dance between the divine masculine and the divine feminine. It provides healing and growth for men and women. Matiu's approach is welcoming, inspiring, fun and empowering.
