Platforming Responsibility and
Inclusivity Statement

FOLLOW UP STATEment

Thank you everyone for your feedback and support with this delicate and nuanced issue.

We want to assure everyone we have read all the comments and taken relevant points on board over the weekend.   If you would like to discuss the topic further, please email us via our website contact form and we will be happy to engage further with you.

Arguments on our social media posts are not the place for this and we will be moderating our social media moving forward.

Based on the feedback received we want to thank everyone who has shown care and interest in this topic, and respond to a few points, and reaffirm our position.

Earth Frequency Festival is all about the music, the art, the love and the community. We are an inclusive space that is welcoming of everyone regardless of age, nationality, gender identity, sexual orientation and ability.  We always wish to include everyone and we work hard to make a safe space for everyone.

We take our responsibilities as a cultural platform seriously and expect our festival participants to understand and reflect these values.

At the same time, we will not boycott any artist or individual based on their nationality as in our view, this simply contributes to more division.

We acknowledge that in the process of responding to some feedback about our lineup this year, the way this has been communicated has been received as one-sided. This was never our intention but it has highlighted the need for absolute care when speaking of delicate and nuanced topics of this nature.  As such we have further refined our ethical commitment to ensure it is focused simply on human rights and is inclusive to everyone.

To be clear: all victims of violence and human rights abuses on all sides of any conflict have equal value and there is no comparison or sides to take. Our hearts are with the victims of the conflict in Gaza, just as our hearts are with the victims of the Nova Festival attack, as with any tragic situations of violence. There are so many situations to think of and speak about, and every life is of equal value. We are all one united humanity.

Earth Frequency Festival stands for unity, love, music, art, community.

We will always work hard to protect the beautiful space we have created over 20 years. We will always strive for improvement, acknowledge any blind spots we may have and welcome any feedback from our beautifully diverse community.  Our beloved festival has always represented and will continue to represent a space where people of diverse backgrounds can come together in peace and unity to celebrate the important things we all share.

The EFF team have no wish to politicise our platform, and we stand for human rights and inclusivity only.
