WE ARE EARTH FREQUENCY
Earth Frequency is a four-day music, arts, lifestyle and environment festival based in South-East Queensland, Australia.
From our humble beginning as a small landcare party in 2005, Earth Frequency has grown into one of Australia’s most vibrant cultural events and now holds the distinction of being Queensland’s longest-running electronic music festival.
Drawing influence from a rich mix of genres and traditions, including doof, rave, boutique and transformational festivals, over two decades, we’ve moved beyond labels to become a truly multi-faceted gathering that celebrates creativity, connection, intention, education and inspiration.
Truly independently owned and operated, Earth Frequency has existed for its entire history without corporate sponsorship, alcohol sales or major government funding.
We’re built on a belief in the strength of community, unity in diversity, respect for nature and the environment, and the capacity of music and art in all their forms to inspire growth and enact positive change in the world.
We’re committed to creating a space that is welcoming, respectful and safe for all who gather with us, and the local community and environment around us.
This includes honouring and respecting First Nations culture and Country, supporting peace, culture and diversity in all its forms, being genuinely family friendly and continually strengthening our approach to accessibility, sustainability and community care.
As Earth Frequency grows, so too does our responsibility to one another and to the environment that supports us, and we approach that responsibility with openness, intention and heart.
Music sits at the heart of everything we do. Our programming is guided by a commitment to quality, diversity and independent creative expression, bringing together live and electronic artists from across a wide spectrum of sounds, scenes and traditions.
From techno, bass, psytrance, progressive and house through to drum’n’bass, reggae, hip-hop, funk, folk, downbeat, world music and beyond, we aim to create a musical journey that connects past, present and future while giving space to both emerging and established artists.
What began as a primarily electronic gathering is now a truly multi-genre festival, and we continue to curate lineups that reflect the depth, creativity and energy of both Australian and global festival culture and the many communities that shape our dancefloors.
Creative arts are woven throughout every part of the Earth Frequency experience. Across our stages, installations, performance spaces and market areas, we showcase a diverse range of visual artists, live painters, performers, designers and makers whose work transforms the festival grounds into a living, evolving gallery.
From immersive installations, projections and visionary art through to handcrafted goods, workshops and interactive spaces, creativity is present at every corner of the festival, reflecting our commitment to supporting independent artists and fostering an environment where art, culture and community can be experienced not just on stage, but across the entire site.
Our journey hasn’t always been easy, nor without its share of challenges, yet each chapter has strengthened our resolve and deepened our bond with the community at our core. We are proud to have never missed a year in more than two decades of history, even through the most uncertain of times. Every test has clarified our purpose and reaffirmed our values.
